We have all seen headlines proclaiming such mind-boggling claims, and the seemingly endless offers of FREE.

The reality is usually quite different. Sure, you can plop your name and an email address and be “signed up” but, what benefit do you receive from a Free sign up?

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Free as much as the next person. Free cookies, free hot dogs, free cd’s are wonderful and real, tangible products. When it comes to Free in the Internet marketing world the word may loose some of its meaning.

Some Internet marketing programs DO offer Free use of their services, but, you must make an effort to use them, of course. Mostly I am talking about surf for hits programs. Click…30 sec….click…very mindless and extremely boring. But hey, it’s FREE, and somewhat effective since other members are actually LOOKING at your web site.

There are FREE ad trackers. These are limited to 15 days or so, after that you will need to pay the 20 bucks or loose all those great tracking links you set up. I have even lost track of WHERE I placed some of my old ad tracking links (I cancel before the 15 days). Searching my web sites like a dog searching for that long buried luscious bone. Not on that page…no I don’t see it on the bottom or buried in that banner I set up. Where the heck is that darn tracking link. You may ask, why should I remove those old tracking links? The answer is; because the search engines don’t like dead links, nor do customers. When I come across a dead link on a web site I immediately BOLT for the door (close out), slamming it behind me. No more searching for those dead ad tracking links.

How about FREE Money making programs, such as Mlm? Can I make money for FREE? NO, hate to break it to you. Deep down in that cranium of yours, where the restless winds blow, you KNEW it was impossible to make money for FREE! Heck, I think it is virtually impossible to make money with Mlm as a PAYING member, much less for Free! Yeah, but John they are building me a HUGE downline for FREE, how the heck can you bash that? Oh, astounding. You have 400 other Free members in your downline. WHO is making money, who is selling the product? If everyone is recruiting other FREE members, how does anyone ever make money? I hear you; Mary upgraded and once you upgrade you will make .25cents. WOW!! Act quickly and claim that quarter.

If you REALLY want to make money on the internet; you WILL have to make an effort, you WILL have to be persistent, you WILL have to be consistent, you WILL have to be very patient, you WILL have to deal with spammers, you WILL become frustrated, you WILL need to learn how to write ad copy, you WILL need to spend money, you WILL become familiar with the in and outs of search engines, you WILL learn to track ads and how to do split ad tracking, you WILL spend hours musing about the next step to increase your Internet marketing cash flow, you WILL need to establish an Internet presence. I.e. Your own ezine or group of some sort and finally, you WILL have moments of fantastic elation (money) that make ALL of it worth every moment.

I digress. Onward.

About the only worthwhile Free Internet marketing venues are those that provide some type of ACTUAL service. Like Ezines, many Ezines allow new subscribers a Free ad. Like Safelists, to some degree safelists are worthy… I just can’t stand receiving email from other people, filling my email boxes with TONS of magical FREE programs. Like surf for hits, covered earlier…mindless boredom…or what I call ZOMBIEDOM!! There are a few others, but time is ticking…Freebies await…I don’t want to miss a SINGLE one; it may be the next big one!!
